It was great working with Kathy from (Vivvos) last year, so when I heard she was launching a new line and I was invited to photograph, there was no hesitation! If this type of work came in every week, it would become impossible to ever imagine working at a desk job again! I mean, to end up in a free flowing creative environment with gorgeous talented models, a patio and a beautiful sunny day, that’s some hard work!

But wait, not only does this shoot come loaded with photos, videos as well! Stay tuned for the full post.

Sanaz Irani was chosen to apply for Miss Canada 2010 this year. As she scrambled to get her portfolio together, I sponsored her by capturing photos of her. Here’s just two from the shoot I’ve decided to post while I keep the rest a secret for now.

Stay tuned for more in the near future.

Lloyd and Adeline are next-door neighbors to Ivana and Darko. Once Adeline saw the photos in their living room, she wanted portraits done for her family as well.

These photos were also done in Deer Lake, just after Ivana and Darko’s session. With three kids, the stakes were raised. I started the family out where I ended last time and as the afternoon turned to evening, the gloomy glow from the sun made for lighting that was easier to work with. While running around photographing the children playing, I spotted one of the best backdrops for an exciting family portrait. With all smiles, it was my favourite photo from the day!

Ivana and Darko are a very family oriented couple who love and cherish seeing their two children grow up. I’m no stranger to this family as I photographed them last year. Ivana and Darko like coming back every year so they can fill their living space with new photos of their kids.

We started out at Deer lake, and although it was very bright and sunny the weather was quite chilly. The sun posed a problem as it was difficult to photograph in direct sunlight. It was hard to find shelter between the trees because even they bled uneven patches of light. To avoid this I photographed them with the sun shining from behind and used a flash to fill in shadows.

    Maternity

Never done any maternity photos before, but there’s a first for everything.

Reason I chose to come to Ioco Beach in Richmond was because I knew the summers provided the best sunsets and the locations was very flat, and very clean!
Make sure to come down at a decent time as well, when the light is still adequate for the day to day photos before attempting the harder sunset photos.

I also told Bernice that every women during their maternity has to become a ninja! I hope you enjoy the photos, lol!

    Love Death Sacrifice

    Love Death and Sacrifice Apparel

Last year I photographed for LDS in a studio behind closed doors, this year we took the studio out and into downtown streets of Vancouver.

Friday night, LDS was one of two hosts at the Canvas club in historic Gastown unveiling their new line to fans, potential customers and on looking club go’ers.  A larger version of the photo above was printed and presented at the venue as well – Vibrant colours, deep contrast and 40inches of viewing never looked so good!
