Shy Brothers (Ben and Mike) contacted me a couple weeks ago looking to update their look with a clean and fresh look. With their new album release just around the corner, it was time to get these two into a studio and plan out a final look for the covers.
I’m keeping the post to more a teaser. I wouldn’t want to release any photographs that might not be used in production. It lets me keep the post simple and clean this time around anyway.

During my attendance at IMF 2010, I snagged a couple of the flyers to show samples already in print.

A few weeks prior to this I booked Sugar Studio for the first time to photograph one of my clients, Shy Brothers from Solid Entertainment. I was really impressed with the amount of space and natural light the whole space provide us.
I was initially thinking of getting the team down for some photos but decided to have this an open invitation for everyone, hence Studio Night was born. Reason for being a First Annual means we’ll be hosting another in the near future again. The turn out wasn’t as large as I expected but the buzz which spread leading to and afterwords was more then promising. Had I not planned it in the middle of Aug when everyone was away or triple booked, I can safely say it could have been 3 times as big.

Stay tuned for when I host the next one closer to the end of Nov. Thanks for everyone else who tried to come down to support.

It was great working with the same crew as last year, with our new comer Christyn M HallĀ  (photo on the right).
We didn’t focus as much on the photos this time, but more on the video. The videos really helped show customers how the flexible the Wrap Bandeau can really be.

Make sure to check out the bloopers reel at the end as well!

Something new featured on Vivvo’s is the new video segments about the Wrap (shot, colour graded and editing by me as well)

It was great working with Kathy from (Vivvos) last year, so when I heard she was launching a new line and I was invited to photograph, there was no hesitation! If this type of work came in every week, it would become impossible to ever imagine working at a desk job again! I mean, to end up in a free flowing creative environment with gorgeous talented models, a patio and a beautiful sunny day, that’s some hard work!

But wait, not only does this shoot come loaded with photos, videos as well! Stay tuned for the full post.

Sanaz Irani was chosen to apply for Miss Canada 2010 this year. As she scrambled to get her portfolio together, I sponsored her by capturing photos of her. Here’s just two from the shoot I’ve decided to post while I keep the rest a secret for now.

Stay tuned for more in the near future.

Michael Lee invited me to help him out with a shoot for John Casablancas’ build-your-own-book event. The event puts up-and-coming hair dressers, wardrobe stylists, and makeup artists into a group with a professional photographer so they may build their portfolios. In the 8hour day you get 1 model, 3 different styles, 5 different unique looks to complete.

Because I was just helping out with lights and setup, I took this time to take a more journalistic approach to my photographs instead of a final look. Enjoy

The photos were a great success! Now as the rest of the webpage/catalog come together, I’m going to leave you with a premier sneak peak of the photos themselves and a couple videos as well.

A couple nights before the shoot, Kathy and I met up to discuss location and look. It wasn’t until I walked into her beautiful West Vancouver crib, that I knew it was going to be the spot to photo the whole layout. Thanks to it’s clean layout, big windows and open design, everything from the patio overlooking the inlet to the kitchen table were used for the final output. Thanks to Ramin from Base-10, the team behind the webpage and advertisement for Vivvos, Shauna Eve the beautiful model and Kathy, owner of Vivvos Fashion – without them this project couldn’t have gone any smoother and all within a four hour time frame.
