Shy Brothers (Ben and Mike) contacted me a couple weeks ago looking to update their look with a clean and fresh look. With their new album release just around the corner, it was time to get these two into a studio and plan out a final look for the covers.
I’m keeping the post to more a teaser. I wouldn’t want to release any photographs that might not be used in production. It lets me keep the post simple and clean this time around anyway.

During my attendance at IMF 2010, I snagged a couple of the flyers to show samples already in print.

A few weeks prior to this I booked Sugar Studio for the first time to photograph one of my clients, Shy Brothers from Solid Entertainment. I was really impressed with the amount of space and natural light the whole space provide us.
I was initially thinking of getting the team down for some photos but decided to have this an open invitation for everyone, hence Studio Night was born. Reason for being a First Annual means we’ll be hosting another in the near future again. The turn out wasn’t as large as I expected but the buzz which spread leading to and afterwords was more then promising. Had I not planned it in the middle of Aug when everyone was away or triple booked, I can safely say it could have been 3 times as big.

Stay tuned for when I host the next one closer to the end of Nov. Thanks for everyone else who tried to come down to support.

    Studio Night, Aug 13th/2010

The Mananetwork team is hosting a Studio Night on Friday, Aug 13th @ Sugar Studio’s in Vancouver! Everyone is welcome to drop by and join us. We’ve had such a great time shooting at this studio, that we’ve decided to book the whole studio again to photograph the team – and whoever else would like to drop by for some creative photos!

There will be light drinks, music and a chance for friends and future clients to meet the team: Liz, Steve, Mike and me (Tomasz). It’s a Friday night: you’re going out, so why not drop in for some free photos! The time is absolutely free; the only fee is if you decide to take a photo home with you – and even then it’s a deal you can’t pass up. Read More | Comments

Another entry into my Fine Art section is a piece I call, the Doors of Jaisalmer from Rajasthan, India.

    the Doors of Jaisalmer

I remember walking around the Inner walls of the fort and finding all these unique looking doors, mostly around the Haveli’s actually. Initially I didn’t think I was going to actually turn this into anything but I thought i’d make a nice piece. A little disappointed with the amount of photos captured thinking it was well over twenty. With only a Canon 50mm 1.4 along side me, some of the tight allies proved a bit difficult to photograph a whole door from a few feet out.

I love a couple who are willing to go all the way for a photograph. That’s what Christina and Rikki did! It’s just water, their just clothes anyway right?
We took these two love birds out to Dundarave, West Vancouver because it provided us with everything we needed for the shoot – Railway, Beach, Grass, Pear and Water :D

Sit back because I got a lot of photos to share, enjoy!

Being raised in North Vancouver makes me really appreciate both areas in the area, so whenever we get a chance to photograph a wedding in either North or West Vancouver it’s a privilege. I’ve already posted a congratulations to Nicole and Richard, but here’s their sneak peak photo post. It was great working with another wedding photography couple because they really knew how to choose the locations!
    Enjoy

Farid and I were talking about doing a family shoot with his gf and dogs for months. Finally after seeing clear skies and beautiful weather we booked a morning. I brought my camera gear and Farid brought his beautiful girlfriend Devin and two dogs, Taydo and Michka. I’ve known Farid for years, since early high school years back at Carson Graham in North Vancouver. I saw how much they loved each other and wanted to take some photographs – even a small engagement ;)

Our destination was Iona beach, prime get-away spot in Richmond. Away from the busy Vancouver downtown scene and more along the long grassy lands and clear beaches. The dogs were well trained with Michka being the older of the two and Taydo just over year, family portraits were a breeze. Decided to give these two loves birds some time to themselves afterwords though. The passion was hot and love un-mistakable – no way separating these two once together. 3years and still going strong, my words can’t describe how happy I am for the both of you. After going through the photographs, I can happy say it’s some of my best work. Partly skills and majority to the both of them!
