I was delighted to join the beautiful May and charming Dennis on their journey to married life. Tweeting their adventures using hashtag #weddingpangs, the catchphrase started trending early Saturday morning in Canada and soon after globally! Thousands of congrats streamed in but I’d like to sign off by posting a congratulations of my own:

Only one in existence..

Star crossed lovers, Renee & Steven found love in Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics and thought it only fitting to tie the knot here as well. Now calling Edmonton their home, they were fortunate enough to catch the city during a wonderfully nice streak of weather, while their accommodations at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel graced them with a comfortable stay and scenic views of the cityscape. Staying and getting ready in two separate rooms, these two couldn’t even prevent themselves from crossing paths in the early morning while sneaking out for a bite of breakfast! Luckily managing to snap up a much sought after spot at St. Andrew’s Wesley Church for a small and very intimate wedding ceremony, all those in attendance were invited afterwards to picnic in Vanier Park on Elsje Point, in the shadow of the Maritime Museum, overlooking the water.

The couple wanted to further commemorate their Vancouver love by snapping a few more shots in iconic Gastown wherein we featured such notable backdrops as Roden Gray, Coffeebar, Blood Alley and the notorious graffiti alley.

I was given the amazing opportunity to photo document Hyundai’s brand new, and as of yet unreleased, vehicle the 2012 Veloster.

On a dark overcast morning at the Opus Hotel in Vancouver, automotive journalists were getting briefed over the intricacies of the car, while I was prepping to get whisked up to Squamish.

The cars took up an entire section in Yaletown as journalists scattered themselves throughout the 15 different multi-coloured  cars. Mapping our way through the city and a few scenic checkpoints along the way, we looped around Alice Lake along a twisty closed road where we could really put these vehicles through their paces.

It’s no super car, but there it is styled aggressively to look the part and with a big boot, it will get a driver where they need to go, with gear in tow. The demonstration models we had were also loaded to the nines with gadgets and luxuries you might only expect in higher end cars. It was definitely a great city car, which Hyundai claims can get 600km between fill ups.

It was a long day on the road, but here are a few shots to showcase the experience.

On the day of Brenda and Tim’s wedding, the morning was calm and quiet but every couple wonders if that will reflect the rest of the day. Brenda looked beautiful in her strapless gown while Tim always seemed to have a look of content on his face under his tuxedo.

With no door crashing of Brenda’s parent’s home in the morning, the bride kept the groom waiting for about 40 minutes at the ceremony, but Tim didn’t sweat it. An eight year relationship between the happy couple meant that they both knew this day would be coming! Keeping some of the old traditions and doing away with others, this particular wedding turned out to be very well organized after the (minor) missing bride issue was cleared up. Following the ceremony, situated at St. Andrew’s Wesley church in Vancouver, the wedding party decided to stop at Olympic Village and picturesque Iona Beach for photos before starting their evening reception at the Delta Hotel Richmond. Heart warming speeches faded into hours of dancing that went on well into the night.
