Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, Kiss, Sharing, Steveston Village, Asian, Couple, Gif
I asked Bonnie and Winston to leave the spoon of Frozen Yogurt in the middle while they went in for a bite and a kiss.

Lets face it, Winston jumped the gun and dove for sweets before Bonnie even had a chance to get it.

Food is the way to a man’s heart, but remember guys; never get in the way of a girl and her sweets or it’s game over!

For Winston, Bonnie played nice and stole the entire cup for herself after :D

Please leave a comment if you enjoy watching the animations and would like to see more!

Melina spotted Andrew five years ago at the Plaza Club in Vancouver. The now happily married bride was so smitten when she saw Andrew that she asked a mutual friend to break the ice! After sharing a drink and a dance the two have never looked back. This tale of a not so typical approach to courtship mirrors this couple’s atypical style. Since that faithful day Melina and Andrew have traveled the world, seeing Paris and Disneyland Florida.

All info about the wedding is featured below the photos.

Enjoy!

I’ve loved Lighthouse Park ever since stepping foot here.

Shooting a wedding with a small party who embraced that same experience couldn’t have more moving.

I for one, if given a choice would pick this one hands down.

Congratulations Mary and Leo! Thank you for calling me and giving me one of the best starts to summer season wedding season!

A little info about the park;

A living example of the transition from the dry Coastal Douglas Fir Zone to the wetter Coastal Western Hemlock Zone, this park serves as an outdoor classroom for nature studies. A Rockfish Protection Area has been implemented, with shoreline fishing closures in place.

Hiking

  • While Lighthouse Park is an off-leash park, all park visitors – human and canine – are asked to stay on the trails.
  • Lighthouse Park contains steep terrain and challenging trails. Good walking shoes or hiking boots are strongly recommended. Dress for the weather.
  • Dangerous cliffs and steep drop-offs are found throughout the park. Trails can be muddy, and rocky areas and roots are slippery when wet. Stay on the trails, and keep an eye on your children and dogs.
  • Be aware that it is possible to get lost in this park. Come prepared: bring extra clothes, water, food and safety provisions with you. Maps are available at both kiosks in the parking lot.
  • A 10-minute walk from the parking lot will bring you to the Lighthouse Viewpoint. Some may find the uphill return challenging – plan on a 25 minute strenuous uphill hike back to the parking lot.

Natural Environment

Lighthouse Park marks the point where Burrard Inlet meets Howe Sound. The rock you see here is old – primarily granitic and varying in age from 96 to 187 million years. Most is blanketed by forest, including huge Douglas fir, western hemlock and western red cedar trees. You’ll also see a variety of mosses, lichens, wildflowers, fungi, animals, insects, birds and sea life.

Lighthouse Park is a fragile remnant of an old growth forest. Sadly, the past 30 years of human impact has degraded the area. It’s critical for visitors to the park to remain on designated trails to avoid damage to sensitive flora and fauna. Follow the 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) of woodland and shoreline trails past natural phenomena identified by discreet signs.

History

In 1792, Captain George Vancouver charted and named the land where Lighthouse Park sits. He called the promontory Point Atkinson and it soon became a useful resource in the growing colonial activity.  Point Atkinson served as the site of one of Canada’s first manned lightstations in 1874 and the original building was later replaced in 1912 with the building now preserved on the site. The lighthouse is a municipal landmark and can be seen from several viewpoints in the park.

Late in the 19th century, the Government of Canada set aside 75 hectares as a lighthouse reserve, which has now become the park we enjoy. The park is maintained by the Municipality, which leases it from the Department of National Defence. Old military buildings can be found near the lighthouse, remnants of the site’s military importance during World War II. – Lighthouse Park | District of West Vancouver

Bride or M&M?

13.06.2011

Wedding

Bride, Gif, M&M's, Wedding

I pronounce you Bride and Red M&M, you may kiss your sweetheart!

Harry met Jessie in an Economics class while they were completing their undergraduate degrees at the University of British Columbia. Having completed their respective degrees they are both working towards their CMA designations. Their first few dates were secretive meetings until their friends caught on to their blooming relationship. Expecting a 2012 wedding, Harry and Jessie have been together for five years and are still going strong.
During the shoot we incorporated props and locations that related to their academic romance and secret rendezvous around the U.B.C. campus. I couldn’t refuse their request at reliving some of the magic of their school love. I also couldn’t see myself going back to school, except possibly for love, or to have a little bit of fun… while educating myself!

The locations in this photoshoot included the Sauder School of Business (aka Robert H Lee Graduate School) building, the campus library and the solarium. We also ventured around the school grounds, the Chemistry building and nearby Wreck Beach.

“The Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia is Canada’s leading academic business school, recognized internationally for its contributions to the transformhation of business practices. With an outstanding faculty and unmatched global partnerships, the Sauder School of Business is opening worlds for its students and stakeholders – worlds of knowledge, worlds of opportunity and worlds of insight.
The school is situated in the heart of the spectacular UBC campus at the westerly edge of Vancouver. A second campus, UBC Robson Square, is located in the heart of the city’s bustling downtown peninsula.” – http://www.sauder.ubc.ca/

“Chemistry Centre is located in a prominent setting on Main Mall in the centre of the Campus. It is one of the few buildings executed from the original plan for the Campus. The first three permanent buildings on campus were the Chemistry Centre, Library (Centre Block of the I.K. Barber Learning Centre) and Power Plant. A few “temporary” buildings were constructed at the time, most of which are still in use today!
The building has a reinforced concrete skeleton with exterior cladding of BC Granite (with a small quantity of field stone). Its design is Tudor style-English Gothic. The windows are leaded glass in steel sashes. The interior is brick and tiles, in brown tones, with oak trim and oak paneled doors. Over the years it has posed for many films as well as TV series such as McGyver and X-Files.” – http://www.chem.ubc.ca/

Tiffany and Brandon have been married since March 2011 and one of their gifts from a post-poned wedding shower was a free engagement session with me.

The new Vancouver Convention Centre offers tons of great shooting angles and foliage as great backdrops. Quiet, elegant & clean come to mind. A great place to shoot a couple or even corporate headshots.
