Vancouver 2010 – Balancing act by Ziggy, the man behind the Inukshuks at False Creek
19.02.2010

If you got the chance to walk along the False Creek seawall in the past few days, then you’ve probably stumbled upon an incredible arrangement of rock formations and Inukshuks next to the Canadian Pavilion. No mater if local or out of town, it’s an experience everyone has to see for themselves.
How did it all start? What’s the story behind it? – Well this man knows, his names Ziggy and he’s the individual who started it all. We started talking when he coincidentally spotted my Polish jersey and yelled the popular Borat word, “Chesc!”; which translates to Hello in Polish.
Ziggy worked in a home renovation company when he was unexpectedly let go just a few weeks ago. He came down to False Creek for a walk and as he sat along the rocks looking at Science World he decided to stack rocks together and build himself a Inukshuk. Not satisfied with the size, he came down the next day and built a bigger Inukshuk with a couple rock formations as well. He had such a great time being in peace, he repeatedly came back everyday and challenged himself once more. So far the record was 23 rocks but because of the windy weather the last couple days they didn’t survive.
If you’re looking for a man do your electricity, carpeting, flooring, maybe even rock landscaping, you know where to go. If you see him, wave and yell out a big “Chesc” .. or just hello will do fine too.
